Kid's Free Crabbing Contest 2024
Attention Crab Kiddos! Weekly Crabbing Contest 2024!
Our 2024 Kid's Weekly Crabbing Contest here at Surf City Bait and Tackle ended for the year on Saturday August 31st. We will announce the season winner soon.
Crab Contest 2025 will be here before we know it!
If you are 16 years old or under you can participate for FREE. Simply come in with your live, legal size blue claw crab (4.5" or bigger) and enter your crab's size in the Surf City Bait and Tackle's Free Weekly Kid's Crabbing Contest! No registration is required and our rules are simple: 1) Kids 16 and under may participate 2) The legal size live crab you want to enter must be brought into the shop during store hours and the the kid that caught it must be present 3) Crab is to be physically measured by store employees - that is it!
Each week starts Sunday at 6am and ends Saturday at 6pm
Each participant gets a FREE prize and their picture posted on social media*
WEEKLY WINNERS! Biggest crab entry for each week wins a prize!
GRAND PRIZE! A Grand Prize for the season will be awarded to the kid catching the biggest crab of the year and you will be King or Queen Crab!

2023 Crabbing Contest
Crab Contest 2023 Winners!
The Dumont Boys were 2023 Grand Prize winners with a big ole crab that measured 6 7/8" long! Their cousins said they will be going after the Osmond King Crabbers title next summer. The champions won a 100 dollar gift card to Surf City Bait and Tackle and a 25 dollar gift certificate to Scoop City Ice Cream here in Surf City. Good job boys.
The 2023 competition was very fun and we are already looking forward to next year.
