Kid's Free Crabbing Contest 2025

Crab Contest 2025 will be here before we know it! Our 2025 Contest will begin Sunday June 29, 2025 and end Saturday August 30, 2025. The contest is a weekly format from Sunday at store opening until Saturday until store closing each week.

If you are 16 years old or under you can participate for FREE. Simply come in with your live, legal size blue claw crab (4.5" or bigger) and enter your crab's size in the Surf City Bait and Tackle's Free Weekly Kid's Crabbing Contest! No registration is required and our rules are simple: 

1) Kids 16 and under may participate 2) The legal size live crab you want to enter must be brought into the shop during store hours and the  the kid that caught it must be present 3) Crab is to be physically measured by store employees 

- that is it!

Each week starts Sunday at 6am  and ends Saturday at 6pm

Each participant gets a FREE prize and their picture posted on social media*

WEEKLY WINNERS! Biggest crab entry for each week wins a prize!

GRAND PRIZE! A Grand Prize for the season will be awarded to the kid catching the biggest crab of the year and you will be King or Queen Crab!

*With parent or guardian permission

Emily, Hayley and Brayden were 2024 Grand Prize winners of the Kid's Crabbing Contest. 

The champions won some cool crabbing stuff and a gift certificate to Rich's Ice Cream in Manahawkin.

The 2024 competition was very fun and we are already looking forward to next year.
